Ingredients

you can use ready-made spice like Shan biryani spice or national biryani spice but in order to get real taste please use the spices that are available at your home


  •   Salt                  |Namak|
  •   Red chili          |Lal mirch|
  •   Dried plum      |Aalu bukhara|
  •   Fenugreek        |Meethi dana|
  •   Soybeans          |Soya dana|
  •   Turmeric powder  |Haldi|
  •   Cinnamon              |Dar chini|
  •   Black Pepper         |Kali mirch|
  •   Cumin                    |Zeera|
  •   Black seed             |Kalonji|
  •   Bay Leaves            |Tez patta|
  •   Feruled                   |Sonf|
  •   Black cardamom    |Bari Elaichi|
  •   Ginger                    |Adrak lehsan|
  •   Clove                      |Long|
  •   Papaya powder       |Pappita powder|


Other ingredients


  •   Chicken         1 Kg
  •   Rice basmati 750 Gram |Washed and soaked|
  •   Onion            300 Gram
  •   Tomatoes       300 Gram
  •   Potatoes         250 Gram
  •   Garlic paste   2 tablespoon
  •   Ginger paste  2 tablespoon
  •   Yogurt           200 Gram
  •   Cooking oil   1 cup
  •   Shan or national spice packet or above-mentioned spices


Step by step procedure

1-  Marinate chicken and potatoes with yogurt and shan spice or marinate with the below-mentioned spices.


  •   Salt     
  •   Red chili     |Lal mirch|
  •   Dried plum |Aalu bukhara|
  •   Fenugreek   |Meethi dana|
  •   Soybeans    |Soya dana|
  •   Turmeric powder |Haldi|
  •   Black seed           |Kalonji|
  •   Ginger        |Adrak lehsan|
  •   Papaya powder  |Pappita powder|


2-  Boiling water 3 liters and please add


  •   Bay Leaves         |Tez patta|
  •   Feruled |Sonf|
  •   Black cardamom |Bari Elaichi|
  •   Clove                   |Long|
  •   Cinnamon            |Dar chini|
  •   Black Pepper       |Kali mirch|
  •   Cumin                  |Zeera|


Then add rice into the boiling water and keep boiling it at least 7 minutes

3-  Fry onion in hot oil until it gets golden in color. Add tomato in it and fry it until
oil gets separated.

4-  Add marinated chicken and potatoes into the curry and then add 3 cups of water in it.

5-  Fry it until oil once again get separated.

6-  Spread half-boiled rice in a pot and make a layer of rice in it. Then add chicken curry
in it and make a layer of chicken curry in it. After that add one more layer with remaining rice. Cover pot and cook on low heat until rice is fully cooked.

7-  Fry black Cumin and white Cumin in hot oil and then immediately add it and food color and garnish it the rice and cover the pot instantly.  Recommended 

After few minutes open it and mix it well before serving. This is the easiest way how to make chicken biryani at home.
